Race Overview
The Ironclad Half Marathon and 5K is held on the third Saturday in October in Kinston, North Carolina. The half marathon starts with a cannon shot at Grainger Stadium, runs a single, mostly flat loop through town and finishes inside the ballpark after rounding home plate. Ironclad Races Inc., a Kinston nonprofit, puts on the event and donates its proceeds to local charities. The current-course record is 1:09:35 for men and 1:34:47 for women, both set in 2026.
