Race Overview
The Malta Marathon runs point-to-point from Mdina, the island's walled former capital, down to the seafront in Sliema. Runners drop about 190 meters over the 42.195 km course, passing through Rabat and Ta' Qali before the closing miles trace the Grand Harbour-side waterfronts of Pieta, Msida and Gzira into Sliema. First held in 1986, it is one of Europe's older marathons and pairs a half marathon, a walkathon and a 5K charity run on the same February morning.
