Race Overview
The Kewash Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K run mostly along the Kewash Nature Trail, a 14-mile former rail corridor of crushed limestone and pavement linking Washington and Keota, Iowa. All distances share a one-mile loop through downtown Washington before splitting onto the trail, starting and finishing near the town square. The event began around 2014 as a half marathon, 10K and 5K organized by the YMCA of Washington County; a full marathon distance was added starting with the 2026 edition.
