The Jim Thorpe Marathon is a point-to-point road race on the D&L and Lehigh Gorge rail trails, finishing in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. The course drops about 700 feet net at a steady 0.5 to 1 percent downgrade, and it is a Boston qualifier. Runners can park at the start and take a shuttle back, or ride the scenic train from Jim Thorpe to White Haven. It is held in late April with a half marathon and a 7-mile race on the same weekend.
