Race Overview
The Galveston Marathon is held in February at Stewart Beach on Galveston Island, Texas, with a half marathon and a 5K the same morning. The marathon is two loops of a flat out-and-back route along the Seawall sidewalk, with turnarounds near Pleasure Pier at 25th Street and at the end of Boddeker Road past East Beach. The course is certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier and has a six-hour limit, and wheelchair and handcycle divisions start 15 minutes ahead of the field.
