Race Overview
The Charlottesville Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K start and finish at Market Street Park in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. The USATF-certified course (VA26008RT) runs about 65% road and 35% paved bike path along the Rivanna River through Charlottesville neighborhoods, with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Monticello. The course stays open to traffic, mile markers are placed every 5 miles, and spectator access is limited along parts of the route. Marathon finishing fields have run in the 140-180 range in recent years; organizers describe it as a boutique event rather than a large marathon.
