Race Overview
The Brookings Marathon has run annually since 1970, making it one of the oldest continuously held marathons in the United States. The Boston-qualifying course is flat with gentle rolling terrain, passing through Brookings' historic neighborhoods, parks including Dakota Nature Park, bike paths, and the South Dakota State University campus. The race starts and finishes at Pioneer Park and is supported by volunteers along the route.
