Race Overview
The Bremen Marathon starts and finishes at the Marktplatz in the city center. The marathon course runs through the Neustadt district and past the Werdersee before continuing through Bürgerpark and Findorff, then follows the Weser river along the Schlachte promenade past the Weserstadion on the way back downtown. The event also includes a half marathon, 10K, and marathon relay on the same day. The 2026 edition moved to September 13 instead of its usual early-October date because Bremen hosted national German Unity Day events around October 3; the race returns to its traditional first-Sunday-in-October date in 2027.
